South Asia
The South Asian Regional Chapter of the ISEE was officially formed by epidemiologists from across South Asia, meeting at the Better Air Quality conference in Agra on December 6, 2004. Initial support for chapter formation was provided by the Health Effects Institute's Public Health and Air Pollution in Asia (PAPA) program as part of its regional capacity-building efforts. The founding members are committed to work on a range of environmental risk factors in addition to outdoor air pollution, including indoor air pollution, arsenic in drinking water, and lack of clean water and sanitation.
