Four ISEE members collaborated on a public comment urging the US EPA to reject proposed closure extensions for 11 US coal-fired power plants (CCR rule). Their comment outlined their concerns and quantified the potential environmental health impacts of delaying closure, in order to protect public health.



New Grant on Climate Resilience and Elderly Health (Pakistan): Ejaz Ahmad Khan has secured a local grant to conduct an interventional study focused on enhancing climate resilience among elderly populations in Pakistan.

Human Sentinel Surveillance Platform (Gaza & West Bank): Aziza Menouni and her team have received Belgian VLIR-UOS funding to co-develop a human sentinel surveillance platform aimed at improving preparedness and health resilience in Gaza and the West Bank. The pilot project will focus on environmental and psychosocial risks among frontline and healthcare workers.
